Burns Night

Derby Burns Night Piper

Hi all,

A client would like to book a Scottish piper for Burns Night on 23rd January 2010 in Derby.

Client Specifics:

The client would just like the piper to pipe in the haggis and play one tune for approximately 30 minutes attendance.

Please respond by leaving a comment on this post if you can take the job on and with a price so I can liaise with the client. If you have a different pricing structure dependant on the duties you perform then please include any additional information you think would be helpful.

Thanks all!

Burns Night

A night in remembrance of Robert Burns (Born Jan 25th, 1759 – Jul 21st, 1796) has always been accompanied by a piper.  Robert Burns or more usually referred to at these occasions as Rabbie Burns is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide on 25th January with a Burns Supper.

A piper usually plays traditional Scottish tunes such as Auld Lang Syne until the high table is ready to be seated.  After the general address and welcome it is tradition for the haggis to be piped in and for guests to clap along until the haggis reaches the table.
